POLICY: Abuse Prohibition Policy

PURPOSE: Immediate reporting of any suspected abuse, molestation or mistreatment of any students during the ICCC program.

RESPONSIBILITY: All teachers and parent volunteers of the ICCC program.

Washington State Law (WAC 388-150-480) requires childcare professionals to report any or all suspected cases of child abuse or neglect.

PROCEDURE:

Screening

All potential teachers and volunteers are required to sign a release to obtain their criminal record through the state police and local departments.

PREVENTION:

  1. There will always be a minimum of two adults in each classroom.

  2. No adult teacher or parent volunteer should ever be alone with a child that is not their own.

  3. If you suspect any inappropriate behavior or that a child is being harmed in some way, report immediately to an ICCC Board Member.

  4. The current President of ICCC will talk with the family of the child in question, and assist in reporting to the authorities if the situation calls for such action.
